“Whodunit?”: A Murder Mystery One-Shot TwiContest

Case File (Contest Description):
Was it Mrs. Peacock in the library with a rope? Or maybe Colonel Mustard in the kitchen with the revolver? Perhaps it was Edward Cullen in the parking lot with the Volvo? Everyone loves the mystery of murder, so how about a murder mystery? Feel free to go a little wild with this, use past murders as inspiration, or come up with your own sick and twisted idea!
The Evidence Bin (Rules and Guidelines):
Story must have both murder AND mystery.
Lemons are acceptable as long as they tie in to the story.
Must have at least one Twilight character and any pairings are accepted.
Entries may be canon, AU, or AH and may be of any genre (even crackfic as long as you can make murder and mystery humorous).
Entries must be rated M (there IS a murder after all).
Collaborations will be accepted.
Limit of two entries per author/collaboration group.
Minimum count of 4,500 words, maximum of 15,000 words (The official word count will be assessed during the validation process via copy/paste of the entry (excluding header and A/N) into Word 2007).
Characters and storyline must be original (no expansions or offshoots of existing fics will be accepted).
Taking Your Case to Court (Submitting your entry):
Submissions will be accepted from October 1st 12:00 AM EDT to October 27th 11:59 PM EDT.
You can submit your entry by PMing your story’s link to the “Whodunit?” Profile (http://www.fanfiction.net/community/Whodunit_A_Murder_Mystery_Contest/74419/).
All entries must use the “Whodunit” contest header, found below.
Entries will be validated for quality grammar/punctuation and rules compliance when the entry is submitted. After an entry has been validated it will be added to the “Whodunit” (http://www.fanfiction.net/community/Whodunit_A_Murder_Mystery_Contest/74419/) C2. Authors will be notified when their entries have been validated. If an entry is disqualified, the author will be PMed and may modify and resubmit the entry by the submission deadline. Using a beta is encouraged.
The Jury’s Verdict (Voting):
Entries will be narrowed down to the top 10 (or possibly more, depending on the number of submissions) through an open vote, and winners will then be chosen from this group by our judges.
The open vote will begin on November 1st 12:00 AM EDT and run through November 15th 11:59 PM EDT.
The judge’s selection will be anonymous – i.e. all identifying information (author, story title, etc.) will be removed from all entries before the judges see them.
In addition, a special winner will be chosen on Halloween (October 31st) by our special guest judge and the brains behind this contest, Jezzeria, for her choice of the scariest entry. Note: Entries are not required to be scary, only if you’d like to be in the running for this special prize.
All winners will be announced on November 25th.
The Sentencing (Prizes):
Jezzeria’s Halloween Pick Prize: A special “Jezzeria’s Pick” banner and a Halloween-ified banner for your story
Prizes:
1st Place: An “I won 1st Place” banner, a banner for your story, as well as your story being made into an audio book, courtesy of AudioFanfictionProductions, and a video for your story created by Alitriona.
2nd Place: An “I won 2nd Place” banner, a banner for your story, and your story made into an audio book courtesy of AudioFanfictionProductions.
3rd Place: An “I won 3rd Place” banner and a banner for your story.
